USA Scholarships For Indonesian Citizens

The American - Indonesia Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) is pleased to announce the availability of Fulbright scholarships to study in the United States for the 2010 academic year. The primary focus of the Fulbright Program in Indonesia is to promote mutual understanding between the Republic of Indonesia and the United States of America through educational exchange and academic scholarship. Fulbright scholarships are available to Indonesian citizens with the appropriate qualifications as stipulated in the program descriptions listed below:

FULBRIGHT MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM
Applicants will possess:
  • a Sarjana (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
  • leadership qualities
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
  • a demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
  • a willingness to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program
  • a minimum TOEFL score of 550


FULBRIGHT-FREEPORT MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM
Applicants will possess:
  • KTP from Papua
  • a Sarjana (S1) degree for Master’s Degree and S2 for PhD with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
  • leadership qualities
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
  • a demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
  • a demonstrated commitment to the development and service of Papua
  • willingness to return to Papua upon completion of the Fulbright program
  • a minimum TOEFL score of 550 for Master’s Degree and 575 for PhD


FULBRIGHT PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (PhD PROGRAM)
Applicants will possess:
  • a Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.00 scale).
  • demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and other cultures.
  • a deep commitment to the chosen field of study.
  • a determination to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program and to take up academic positions in higher education upon their return.
  • a TOEFL score.


FULBRIGHT DOCTORAL DISSERTATION RESEARCH PROGRAM
This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities for Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation. The grant duration is for a period of three to six months. The applicant should have a minimum TOEFL score of 575 to participate in this program.



FULBRIGHT SENIOR RESEARCH PROGRAM
This research grant is for Indonesian scholars who have a doctoral degree or equivalent professional qualifications. The grant affords Indonesian scholars the opportunity to conduct research in the U.S. for a period of three to six months. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency to conduct research in the U.S.



FULBRIGHT FOREIGN LANGUAGE (BAHASA INDONESIA) TEACHING ASSISTANT PROGRAM
Applicants who are no older than 29 years of age by October 1, 2009 and will possess:
  • a Sarjana (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
  • leadership qualities
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
  • a demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
  • a willingness to return to their home institution upon completion of the Fulbright program
  • a minimum TOEFL score of 550


HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR MID-CAREER PROFESSIONALS
Applicants will possess:
  • a Sarjana (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 (4.0scale)
  • a minimum TOEFL score of 525.


FULBRIGHT VISITING SPECIALIST PROGRAM
DIRECT ACCESS TO THE MUSLIM WORLD
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent experience or a terminal degree in their field, demonstrate a strong record of academic, professional, and community service, expertise on Islam as a creed and culture, maturity, dependability, flexibility, integrity and professionalism. Applicants must be residing in Indonesia at the time of application.



COMMUNITY COLLEGE SUMMIT INITIATIVE PROGRAM
To apply to the program, candidates must:
  • Have completed a secondary school education;
  • Have relevant work experience in the field in which they are applying;
  • Have English language skills that provide a basis for enrolling in academic coursework following approximately 6 months of intensive English language study in the U.S.;
  • Submit a complete application; and
  • Minimum Institutional TOEFL score 500 or TOEIC score 650 (only scores less than 2 years old are valid).


INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAM (ILEP)
  • Be secondary-level, full-time teachers with five or more years of classroom experience in disciplines including: English as a Foreign Language, Social Studies, Civics, Mathematics or Sciences.
  • Be citizen of Indonesia.
  • Be proficient in written and spoken English with a minimum Institutional (ITP) TOEFL score of 500 or higher.


FULBRIGHT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARD FOR PhD STUDY
Applicants will possess:
  • a Bachelor and/or Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.00 scale). Undergraduate students who will complete the degree before August 1, 2009 may also apply.
  • demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and other cultures.
  • a deep commitment to the chosen field of study.
  • a determination to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program.
  • a minimum TOEFL score of 580 at the time of application.
  • a minimum GRE quantitative score of 700 (GRE test will be required if selected for nomination).
